What is Occupational Therapy?

Occupational Therapists are regulated healthcare professionals who work with people that are experiencing difficulties to be able to participate in activities of everyday life.

In the realm of paediatrics, Occupational Therapists (OT) help to promote confidence and build skill sets to allow children to participate in activities that they need, want, or are expected to perform. These services can occur in the contexts of school, home and community.  OTs use their clinical expertise to help children and their families gain the functional skills that are needed for independence or to achieve their goals.
